Fore! Amy’s Ice Creams is serving up Barton Creek Chip Shot, a special flavor of ice cream inspired by golfers and the four championship golf courses at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa. (I once stayed in a room big enough to host its own convention at the Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa. Read about that here.)
The new flavor combines Amy’s sweet cream ice cream, swirls of homemade fudge, and crunchy vanilla waffle cone chips. And no, they haven’t blended those three things together – officially, anyway – until now.
Amy’s will be scooping the new flavor from its mobile food truck from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Barton Creek Country Club.
It also will be sold at Velvet Joe’s Coffee House at the resort throughout the fall. Customers can also buy it at Amy’s Westlake/Rollingwood location inside the Shops at Mira Vista, 2805 Bee Caves Road No. 416.
Amy’s was established in 1984, and handcrafts more than 350 rotating flavors of ice cream, all hand crafted in small batches. It has locations in Austin, Houston and San Antonio.
