“‘A Taste of Winter Park in Austin’ offers a glimpse into the family-friendly experiences that await Austinites at our Colorado resort,” said Jen Miller, spokesperson for Winter Park Resort. “But nothing beats the real thing! Come experience the wonder of Winter Park firsthand this winter. With a variety of activities for all ages, from skiing and snowboarding to tubing and snowshoeing, there’s unspoiled fun for every family member.”
Winter Park Resort, located just 67 miles from Denver, is known for its beauty, expansive terrain, and variety of winter activities, as well as its history and heritage. With a nearly 85-year history, Winter Park Resort is Colorado’s longest continually-operated ski resort. The railroad helped the ski industry flourish – especially the Winter Park Ski Area, which opened in 1940. In addition to skiing, there are 100 more things to do in Winter Park that celebrate Colorado’s variety of family-friendly winter activities for every age and every ability.
New this ski season, Winter Park Resort is unveiling a $37 million snow-making upgrade – the resort’s first major update since the original system was installed back in the late 1970s. The new system will make snow much more efficiently and will provide the resort with more flexibility to open more terrain sooner, Mother Nature willing.
Additionally, this season’s visitors can expect new products for beginners and families –– Winter Park Resort is rolling out a learn-to-ski guarantee. By the end of your third lesson, if you can’t ski the 10 identified green trails, your fourth lesson is on Winter Park Resort. The resort is also introducing “Kids Ski Free” where kids signed up for a lesson get a free lift ticket, and they get free rentals with an adult three-day rental package.
