The German-themed holiday celebration in the Hill Country town of Fredericksburg will kick off on Thanksgiving week.
Starting Nov. 26, visitors can enjoy holiday music and carols during the city’s Christmas Nights of Lights. The nightly ceremony kicks off at 5 p.m. with music, carols and a short audio presentation about the city’s German heritage. The 30-foot community Christmas tree and a 26-foot wooden Christmas pyramid – a large-scale version of the spinning tabletop structures common in Germany – will be illuminated.The Christmas Pyramid at the Marktplatz was hand-crafted in Germany in 2009.

The festivities will take place every night through Jan. 6, except Dec. 6, when the city hosts a Light the Night Christmas Parade, and Dec. 3, when a New Year’s festival will take place at the Marktplatz.
An outdoor iceskating rink, or Eisbahn, will open after the lights turn on. Refreshments will be available.
