A beach destination in the heart of the Hill Country? Yes, it’s happening.

After three years in the making, Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Villas this week announced the completion of a multi-phase renovation that includes the 2.2-acre Big Spring Lagoon and waterfront Rancher Hall event venue.

These renovations join a slate of other updates at the award-winning resort nestled in the Texas Hill Country and just 20 minutes from downtown San Antonio. Last year, the resort announced the completion of a $50 million renovation to its guestrooms and meeting spaces. The enhancements showcase an upscale ranch-inspired aesthetic with comfortable amenities and modern technology.

“We are pleased to announce the official completion of a renovation to our guestrooms and meeting spaces just in time for the spring and summer travel seasons,” said Steven J. Smith, General Manager of Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa. “As we celebrate the 30-year anniversary of our beautiful resort this year, we are thrilled to offer an enhanced product paired with the premier service and experiences our guests have come to know and love over the years. We look forward to welcoming travelers, groups, and our local community to experience the updated Hyatt Regency Hill Country for an unforgettable getaway they will cherish for years to come.”

The renovation included a redesign of the resort’s 500 guestrooms and suites to include the following:

  • An upscale, ranch-inspired aesthetic featuring warm neutral tones with an accent wall, brand new wood flooring complemented by a stylish rug, a chaise lounge, and unique Texas artwork and photos.
  • New artwork that pays tribute to the resort’s history as the location of the Rogers-Wiseman Ranch, featuring framed family photos and sketches, graphic artwork created by a local Hill Country artist, and other historic San Antonio pieces.
  • Updated technology and amenities including LG 65-inch class 4K smart ultra-high-definition televisions, as well as an overhaul of bathrooms to include new tilework, toilets, fixtures, marble countertops, and vanity lighting. Most bathrooms have been converted to feature walk-in showers.
  • Enhancements also include a conversion of all double-double rooms to two queen beds, allowing for more spacious and comfortable accommodations.

Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa also recently announced the debut of a brand-new lobby bar, named Woodbine Bar. The rustic yet distinguished bar is open to resort guests and local residents, and showcases a menu of signature cocktails that pay homage to the resort’s beautiful Hill Country setting.

“We are excited to announce the addition of Woodbine Bar to the resort experience at Hyatt Regency Hill Country,” said Ken DeMello, Director of Food and Beverage at Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa. “As guests enter the resort, they will be greeted with the new bar which is also connected to a spacious outdoor patio overlooking the resort’s grounds. It was designed to encompass refined elegance while staying true to the rustic charm of our beautiful location.”
