It still feels like summer here in Austin, but soon snow will blanket Colorado’s Winter Park Resort –– and now is the perfect time for families looking to save big on the slopes this year to book their 2024/2025 ski trip.
Winter Park Resort just unveiled their “Insider’s Package,” saving families up to 30 percent on lodging, lift tickets, rentals, lessons, tubing, on-mountain tours, and private guides if they book their ski trip before October 24.
Winter Park Resort, tucked away in the high-country corner of the Rockies, is one of our favorite ski destinations thanks to its low-key, family-friendly vibe, convenience to Denver (it’s the closest major mountain destination), and varied terrain suitable for all skill levels. When I found out about Winter Park Resort’s Insider’s Package earlier this month, I jumped on the deal and got an early start on planning our family’s spring break ski trip next March.

If you’re hitting the slopes at Winter Park Resort this year, look out for these exciting new updates:
- Winter Park Resort is unveiling a $37 million snow-making upgrade –– the resort’s first major update since the original system was installed back in the late 1970s. The new system will make snow much more efficiently and will provide the resort with more flexibility to open more terrain sooner, Mother Nature willing.
- Expect new products for beginners and families –– Winter Park Resort is rolling out a learn-to-ski guarantee. By the end of your third lesson, if you can’t ski the 10 identified green trails, your fourth lesson is on Winter Park Resort. The resort is also introducing “Kids Ski Free” where kids signed up for a lesson get a free lift ticket, and they get free rentals with an adult three-day rental package.
- Hungry or thirsty? The Sundog Taproom will be this season’s new hot spot in the heart of the Winter Park base village. This casual eatery and taproom will add more than 130 seats and 30 self-serve taps of beer, offering an exciting new gathering spot for skiers and riders and families.
- As part of Winter Park’s “Heniiniini: There is Snow on the Ground” public art installation, the resort is completing more indigenous trail signs in the Eagle Wind terrain. With the help of an Arapaho linguist, the ski resort has translated trail signs into the Arapaho language.
